Our team is led by a Specialist Orthodontist Dr Ansa Akram. Dr Akram has completed a five year training course in Orthodontics and is registered as a specialist on the GDC specialist list.

Our Orthodontic Therapists have completed their specialist training in Dental School and comprehensive in house training in practice, before qualifying with the Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy. They work under the direct supervision of Dr Ansa Akram, following her instructions and prescriptions, and are an essential part of the Orthodontic team.

Why go to an Orthodontic Specialist?

On average it takes 6 years to qualify as a registered dental surgeon. In the UK It then takes another 6 years of specialist training that requires successful examination in Fellowship in Dental Surgery and Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons. As specialists we have usually had a further years postgraduate training compared to normal general dental surgeons.
