Our Story
The Ocean for me signifies tranquility, calmness and peace. At Ocean Orthodontic Clinic, our story is shaped by our aspiration to move past the status quo, offering a peaceful, ‘spa’ environment and world-class technology that elevates dental care to a whole new level. I wanted there to be no nervousness or anxiety associated with dental care.
The idea for Ocean Orthodontic Clinic began with a simple goal, to bring exceptional orthodontic care to the families of Torbay. When the opportunity arose to establish a specialist service for the region, I followed my vision, stepping away from my hospital consultant role to create something new. After months of determination and teamwork, Ocean Orthodontic Clinic opened its doors on 1st April 2019, marking the start of a journey dedicated to crafting confident, lasting smiles.
Our treatments include options ranging from traditional metal braces, tooth-coloured braces to ‘invisible’ aligner treatments, we tailor our treatments to the needs of our patients. Together with our team of experienced Specialists, Orthodontic therapists and nurses we provide a customer journey that offers a reproducible gold standard of Orthodontic treatment and customer care every time a patent visits, regardless of who you see and how big or small the treatment you have. In recognition of our high standards, we are a training site for future Specialist Orthodontists and have a Speciality trainee within our team.
I wanted our patients to feel a personal warmth and comfort from the clinic as a whole and that they are being given a personal experience they would value. We are about building relationships with our patients, about remembering our patient’s dog’s names, sympathising about their house move woes and gushing over their wedding photos.
Our patients often comment that coming to see us for their appointments feels like they are catching up with old friends. From the visual skylights above the dental chairs, to the wall murals and surgeries personalised with names of the Oceans, every element of the Clinic has been carefully selected keeping the end goal of creating an enjoyable experience for our patients in mind.
This matched with our investment in a fully digital workflow, modern technology, a highly qualified exceptionally caring Specialist led Orthodontic team, dedicated to continuing professional development and willing to go the extra mile and beyond, means we are able to provide exceptional care to our patients in a relaxed and calm environment.
At Ocean we will constantly reinvest back into the Clinic and we will continue to empower our team so they in turn are able to provide the best possible care to our patients whilst feeling a sense of fulfilment themselves.
